Join me as we use music to reflect on language!

Every other Tuesday, starting January 12, I’ll be featuring a song in one of my languages―Portuguese, Spanish, or Italian―and translate it into English.

There will be a podcast episode with some backstory and a 30-second clip of the song available only on Spotify, and you’ll be able to watch the video version on YouTube!

Now, because I don’t want to be slammed by YouTube with a Copyright Notice, I’m not using the actual song track in my video, so I had to find a way to make sure you can still enjoy the translated lyrics and listen to the song too. That’s how I came up with a little game...

Once you start watching the Translation Confessional Music Edition video highlighting a song, you’ll need to go to Spotify and open the exact same track. I’ll add some hints to the video itself, so you can align it with the right song. Once you see the slide with the album cover, you’ll be able to scan the Spotify Wave right underneath it, use the link shown on screen, or simply type the name of the song on the Spotify search bar to find that exact track.

Just make sure the track you’re playing is the same I’m showing on that slide. Live versions and remixes won’t quite work.
